Adopting an American pitbull terrier if you have kids is not a crime at all.

Contrary to popular belief, the relationship between an American pitbull terrier and a child can be, for the latter, an incredible opportunity for her/his growth.
The bond that they will have is unique and very strong. By its nature, the pit bull is not as bad as it is painted, to the point that it can be effectively used for Pet Therapy, the therapy that uses animals to improve the quality of life of sick people, children and the elderly, people with disabilities or with psychic discomfort. The American pitbull terrier is a courageous, loyal dog who loves being in contact with people.

It is important, obviously, to know as much as possible about the American pitbull terrier.

There are some factors to take into account before deciding to welcome a pitbull puppy in your home: this is an essential step so that the experience will be not only positive, but also last over time.

It is necessary to know well the dog that will become part of your family, doing your own research and talking to the breeders that brought it up. This will help the future owners to acquire the knowledge to manage the dog correctly.

Many probably aren’t familiar with the concept, but the American pitbull terrier – besides displaying strong and domineering qualities –  is also be loyal, social and sweet. Pitbulls are cuddly and patient and they often tolerate mistreatment without showing discomfort.

This does not mean that the puppy is now a babysitter! It is better to always monitor the interactions between kids and their dog.
It may happen, for instance, that while they are playing together the child pulls the ear or the tail of the dog by accident, or that they stick a finger in its eye. But Taking some precautionary measures may make the adoption of an American pitbull terrier easier for all family members.

In the beginning it is important to make sure that children learn how to behave appropriately around their dog and, even if Pitbulls are really tolerant dogs,  how to avoid hurting it by accident.

If it is correctly transitioned into the family in its first months (2-4 months), and bred by a professional American Pitbull Terrier Breeder in a proper Pitbull kennel facility with proper socialization protocols a pitbull puppy is the perfect dog for children. They will soon become inseparable  play buddies.

Accidents are mostly caused by human ignorance. Whether it’s a labrador or a pitbull or a mongrel, we cannot choose our future dog exclusively because of their physical appearance.

It is essential to carefully examine both the owner’s and the dog’s needs and qualities.

If we decide to adopt an American pitbull terrier, the best course of action is to look for a professional dog trainer. Planning and undertaking obedience lessons will help the dog go through life in the best possible way or getting a puppy already trained and socialized by a professional pitbull breeder.

Not all kids are lucky enough to grow up with a pet. When this is made possible, though, it becomes clear that the dog is a loyal friend that showers their family with plenty of affection, cuddles and attention.

If you make your choice with a high degree of self awareness, adopting an American pitbull terrier will be a significant and extraordinary experience for your children.

Our experts at Pitbull Forest House provide you with all the information and support that you need to buy and train your future american pitbull terrier.
