Birds are beloved pets. It is always fun with these singing animals around you and they can get tame. Just remember that they are not just to watch! Birds are also animals that need daily care and can live up to ten to twenty years old. A nice place for your bird is very important.

If the cage is not large enough, if it is not in the right place or if the cage is not properly furnished, the bird may pluck itself out of boredom and feel very unhappy. That is why we are happy to give you tips in this article about the perfect arrangement of bird cage for your bird.

Buying a bird cage

When purchasing a bird cage for your birds, make sure it is large enough for the birds to flutter around. The bigger the better. Choose a cage that is at least half horizontal bars, such as the Bird cage. Little birds are real climbers! If you take an aviary in the garden, make sure they have a draft and frost-free indoor enclosure.

One perch is not enough, take at least two. Preferably even more and in different thicknesses. This keeps the muscles in the legs healthy. Placing a swing can help to train the muscles and most birds like it a lot.

Provide sufficient diversion

Birds are social animals that live in large flocks in the wild. Birds will, therefore, get bored quickly if they do not have enough peers around them. Every bird, therefore, deserves at least one species as a companion. If you keep several birds, it is good to do this in even numbers so that each bird has a size.

Most birds are also very playful and especially intelligent animals. Sufficient attention and distraction are very important to them, even when they live with several birds together in the same enclosure. Therefore always make sure you have enough bird toys, perches, and possibly a lime block or candy holder.

Bird toys are available in different shapes and sizes, but not every toy is suitable for every bird species. A bird can get caught in toys with a long rope or clips, keep this in mind. A swing, or a toy with a bell, are often very popular with parakeets. Do not hang a mirror in the cage. The bird then sees itself and thinks this is another bird. In the longer term, this can lead to disturbed behavior because they don’t understand why they don’t get the mirror image back.

Interior of the cage

Place a water bottle and/or tray with fresh drinking water at all times. In addition, provide various food bowls, namely one for food, one for egg food, and a tray for grit and stomach gravel. Edible plants or other attractive bird snacks are also available. Birds also love to wash.

There are special bird baths for this available which you can attach to the bird cage. Birds like to use the bath to freshen up and keep clean. If your bird does not use the bath, you can also try whether your bird likes to shower under the plant sprayer. Only use clean water with a temperature of about 25 degrees.

Usually, there are two or three plastic perches with a new bird cage. In addition to these perches, you can also place thick wooden perches yourself. They wear out the nails and beaks more easily.

Ground

cover As a ground cover, you can think of shell sand. Pay attention to what is around the cage, because the sand can blow a lot. The shells can help your bird to grind seeds and thus digest them better.

You can also opt for corn kernels or beech chips as ground cover. Parakeets are more likely to walk on the bottom of the cage. In any case, always provide good and fresh ground cover, such as wood chips or shell sand.

Choose the right place for the bird cage

The location of a bird cage is also very important. Make sure that a cage is placed in a high, draft-free place, where the bird has a sufficient overview of the space and is in front of your company. Do not place the cage in the same room where you are cooking as this can be very dangerous. You can read in this article why’ Birds and gourmet; not a good combination’.
