Dogs provide us with so much unconditional love and soon become a part of our family as a person. Therefore, it is our duty to honor their commitment and loyalty by taking care of their well-being and needs. Below are the 10 ways following which an owner can stay kind to his dog:

Play Interesting Games

Almost every dog loves to play and it is actually a result of the domestication process. To keep your dog mentally and physically happy, you need to come up with interesting and interactive activities that can be enjoyed together. From a basic game of fetch to a trip to a local park, you have plenty of choices to keep your pet happy.

Enjoy A Walk Together

Set aside enough time for walks with your lovely friends as it can be an excellent stress reliever for both of you. Walks are similar to physical exercise for our dogs. It’s the time of the day when they go out and see what’s going on in the neighborhood. So, take out some time to enjoy a walk with your pooch before you leave for work. Let it run, sniff, and explore what’s happening around.

Spare Some Time for Grooming

Grooming your canine not only makes it look attractive, but it also works well in strengthening your bond. Moreover, you get a chance to check over its coat and skin to spot any potential issues.

Consider Reproductive Control

It is believed that spaying or neutering your pet is a cruel act which is actually not. If you don’t want to have puppies, you can consider this option. With this, there will be a lot of health and behavioral benefits which will make life better for both of you.

Treat Your Pooch with Toys

When you are leaving for work, give your dog any tough interactive toy that keeps its mind occupied and relieves boredom. Use food dispensers to give it some more mental stimulation. You can also buy some chew toys, bones, or balls to keep your dog busy. When you are at home, you can make lots of DIY toys from your household items and play together. But be sure that any toys your dog plays with are safe.

Make Delicious Treats

Just like humans, food is a great motivator for dogs as well. Making yummy treats for your dog is a great way to show your love and care. If your dog is healthy, then the regular snack works fine. But if your dog needs to get rid of some pounds, you can make various healthy items that won’t worsen the issue.

Give Proper Training

Like grooming, training is also an act of kindness as well-trained dogs are allowed at more places than untrained dogs and receive greater love. A few minutes session a day with your dog on new commands consumes more mental energy and gives its brain a workout. If you have trained your dog well, people will consider it a pleasure to be around and your pooch will benefit from those positive feelings.

Arrange a Play Date

Every once in a while, arrange a play date with the pets of a trusted neighbor, friend, or family member to give your dog some meaningful interaction. Allow a pet parent you trust and whose pet your dog knows well to come over your place and have a play date with your dog. You can catch up with the owner in the living room or backyard while the dogs play together.

Take Your Dog Out

To spend some quality time with your buddy, you can go out to some public places. You might be surprised to know that there are tons of dog-friendly public places. All you need to do is search online in your surrounding area and find various places where you can take your dog. Certain restaurants, shops, beaches, parks, and stores welcome dogs as their guests. However, you need to make sure your dog is properly trained for public outings.

Spend as Much Time as Possible Together

As you get right down to it, many items on this list involve spending time with your pet. To your pooch, you are the entire world and all it wants is a little time, care, and attention to stay happy. And that may be the best way to show kindness towards your dog.
